Tim Farnden

Sgt. Harry Page MiD. 5th Btn. Queens Royal West Surrey Regiment (d.29th May 1940)

Harry Page, was a Batman, a sergeant who perished at Dunkirk. A serving soldier under arms. I am the eldest Grandson and have his service medals which includes an oakleaf mentioned in despatches and will pass this on to my son, along with other information as I research him.

John Watson

Pte. Thomas James Fairs 1/5th Btn. Royal West Surrey (Queens) Regiment (d.26th April 1943)

My uncle Thomas Fairs served with the 1/5th Btn. Royal West Surrey (Queens) Regiment. All I know about was that he was injured early on in the war somewhere on the canals (The Albert Canal seems to stick in my mind). From there he was taken to South Africa for R and R. After that he went through North Africa, only to be killed at the Battle of Enfida. His body is buried in the Enfidaville War Cemetery, a quite well kept cemetery in a busy industrial district.

Pte. Arthur Edward Page 1/5th Btn. Queen's Royal Regiment (d.28th Sep 1943)

My uncle Arthur Page served with 5th Queen's Royal Regiment, we can find no reference to him, all we know is he died in Italy during WWII.

Joan Carey

Pte. John Priestnall 5th Btn. Queens Royal Regiment (West Surrey) (d.31st Oct 1942)

John Priestnall died on an Italian POW ship in a North African port.
