July 1943 Convoy escort  In July 1943 No.26 Squadron moved from Detling to RAF Church Fenton in Yorkshire, although one flight was detached and sent to RAF Ballyhalbert in Northern Ireland. Their principal duties at this time were convoy escort patrols.

If you have any unwanted photographs, documents or items from the First or Second World War, please do not destroy them. The Wartime Memories Project will give them a good home and ensure that they are used for educational purposes. Flt.Sgt. Harold Thomas Wise 165 Squadron (d.5th Sep 1944)

Flight Sergeant (Pilot) Haold Wise was the Son of George and Mary Ann Wise, husband of Kathleen Margaret Lomer Wise of Sanderstead, Surrey. He was 25 when his plane was shot down. He is buried in the Geldermalsen General Cemetery, Gelderland, Netherlands.
