26th September 1914

On this day:

  • 7th KSLI move to Codford Camp   The Officers and 750 men of the newly formed 7th Battalion King's Shropshire Light Infantry, marched out of the Regimental depot in Shrewsbury at 4.30am on the 26th of September. They joined, 10th Royal Welch Fusiliers, the 6th South Wales Borderers, the 10th (Rhondda) Battalion, Welch Regiment to form 76 Brigade at Codford Camp.
