  • 2nd Black Watch leave India   2nd Battalion Black Watch leave their base in Bareilly, India and set sail for France to join the BEF.

  • 21st Sep 1914 The Queens mobilised in England

  • Rest and Regrouping Period   E Battery 3rd Brigade RHA 21st to 29th September 1914 - Continued rest and refitting in billets at Cerseuil.

  • Ongoing Action   2nd Battalion - Royal Irish Regiment

    Monday, September 21st, 1914 - 0315 Vially

    Stood to arms. 2 Machine Guns received very little artillery fire all day but Germans renewed their attack on right of line.
