20th July 1915

On this day:


  • 6th London Brigade RFA Retaliate   6th County of London Brigade RFA reports Lieut. W.J. Barnard proceeded to England on 7 days leave of absence, thereby leaving the 16th Lon Battery with only two Officers. 2/Lt. J.A.W. Petro attached to the 16th London Battery from the 6th London Ammunition Column. 15th London Battery fired 15 rounds in retaliation on forward German trenches and 16th London Battery fired a total of 8 rounds also in retaliation, on the same target. 17th London Battery likewise retaliated.

  • 20th July 1915 9th Lancers working party

  • 19th Infantry Brigade transfers to 8th Division   Visited by Deputy Director Medical Services 3rd Corps.

    This day the 19th Infantry Brigade and attached troops were transferred from 27th Division to 8th Division.

  • 20th Jul 1915 7th Northumberlands into Trenches
