The Wartime Memories Project - The Great War - Day by Day

7th May 1916

On this day:

  • New CO   6th County of London Brigade RFA at Frevillers report Colonel Eley commanding 6th Lon FAB took over command of Right Group from Major Gordon DSO 16th London Battery. - There are now large gaps in the war Diary as if spaces have been left to be filled in later but have not been. I suspect the 8th London Brigade War Diary would show what happened at this time as the Batteries and Ammunition Column are now under their command. I have left the dates in red as although the HQ are out of the line the Batteries and Ammunition Column are still there. (Note: Think Colonel Eley is commanding 8th London FAB as Colonel Lowe (on leave) is OC. 6th London FAB.)
