4th September 1916

On this day:


  • Misfire causes Injury   236th London Brigade Royal Field Artillery at Bottom Wood. Relatively quiet day on our front. One man of B236 Battery was wounded by a misfire from one of the 235th Brigade Batteries. The 7th Division attacked Ginchy. At 1510 the Batteries fired an intense bombardment on the front line for a few minutes.

  • 59th MGC at Guillemont   59th Coy Machine Gun Corps are at Guillemont on the 4th of September 1916.
