Additional Information:

My Great-Grandfather. Fought at the Battle of the Somme and injured on 27th July 1916 which led to him being shipped back to England to recover from his wounds. Later returned to the front. He served as a police officer in South Shields after the war but was killed in the line of duty by a German bomb on 24 May 1943, aged 48.
