from:Gavarghy, Co Tyrone

(d.25th June 1917)

I don't know a lot about Robert McKeown, but he is my great uncle and had an older brother in the 12th Btn. Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers who died six weeks after Robert.

Additional Information:

He served with his 2 older brothers , William the oldest , in the 9th Battalion , who survived the war (my Grandfather) and his older brother Thomas in the 11th Battalion who was killed on the 16th of August 1917. Robert is buried in Somer farm cemetery and Thomas in the New Irish Farm cemetery.
