225227 Sgt. Charles Henry Rushby British Army 6th Btn. Lincolnshire Regiment from:Grimsby (d.26th April 1918) My husband's grandfather Charles Rushby was the son of Tom and Anne Rushby. Born in Caistor in 1878, he married Rosetta Swaby in 1903 in Grimsby. They had five children, including my father in law, Charles Edward, who was only two when his father died. His younger brother was born after his father's death. Charles Henry was a gaslamp lighter in civilian life. In the army he gained the rank of sergeant and died in Flanders on 26th April 1918. He is buried in Philosophe British Cemetery, Mazingarbe, Pas de Calais.
