224422 James Domeric Summers British Army Lincolnshire Regiment from:East London My maternal Grandfather James Summers was born in 1890 in the parish of St Luke's, East London. He enlisted in the Lincolnshire Regiment before the First World War and served in India in the Poona Region. His Service No and which Battalion are unknown to me. When war was declared his Regiment was posted direct from India into France, where he saw action in the Battle of Mons and was one of the "Contemptibles". He served throughout the War from 1914-18 and was wounded a number of times, and whilst on sick leave in England he met his wife to be, my Grandmother. He eventually died as a result of his wounds in 1934 in the King George Hospital at Windsor. He is buried in Little Marlow Cemetery in Buckinghamshire.
