Pte. Thomas Bugden

My father Thomas Bugden served from 1914 to 1918 in the Royal West Kent Regiment
In October 1914 they moved to India then transferred to the Jhansi Brigade
In March 1916 they transferred to Rawalpindi Brigade.
A year later in March 1917 they returned to the 5th (Mhow) Division.
The battalion went to Mesopotamia in December 1917 and joined the 54th Brigade
During his service in the Mesopotamia & Persia War Campaign they were attached to the Tigris Corps and involved action at the Fat-ha Gorge & little Zab River also the battle of Sharquat during October 1918, the division remained in Iraq until 1920.
My Father never spoke to me regarding any of his time in the war.
