Frederick George Rosen British Army Royal Engineers from:Jarrow (d.5th March 1919) Frederick George Rosen, Sapper 470065, served in the Royal Engineers and died age 32 on the 5th March 1919. He is remembered at Jarrow Cemetery.II.C.441. His medal card shows the award of the 1915 Star, War and Victory Medals. Frederick was born in Pembroke 1887, son of Frederick George and Mary Ann Rosen nee Collins of Jarrow. He was married to Elizabeth Ann Swinbank (formerly Rosen nee Ramshaw). In the 1911 census the family is living at 37 Charles Street, Jarrow with Frederick(47)a boilermaker in shipbuilding and his wife of 25 years Mary Ann(45). They had 10 children all living with 8 at this address. The two eldest Florence(25) and Frederick(23) are both married, entered on the form and crossed out obviously on forms at their own addresses. Florence has no further details entered but Fred is shown as married for 15 months and with 1 child.
