209115 CQMS John Bright "Bright" Lockley British Army 95th Machine Gun Company from:12 Granville Street, Ordsall, Salford (d.5th April 1918) John Bright Lockley enlisted in the Manchester Regiment in 1898. Private 5421, 2nd Battalion. He served in the Boer War and finished his 12 years of service in 1910. He volunteered for service in August 1914, enlisting in the Manchester Regiment. Private 2771, 4th Battalion. He did a musketry course on machine guns and was tranferred to the 2nd Battalion and onto France. The Machine Gun Company of the 2nd Battalion the Manchester Regiment became the 95th Machine Gun Company in the 95th Infantry Brigade where he served as Company Quarter Master Sergeant 7733.
